After signing the Memorandum of Cooperation between Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and Ericsson, the implementation of an international training program for developing skills in the field of digital technologies — Ericsson Educate: 5G University — was launched.
The program provides for 50 hours of in-depth training in 5G technologies and standards and is designed to supplement the current technical training of students and increase their readiness for professional activity in the ICT sector.
At the first stage, nine teachers from Kyiv Polytechnic University successfully completed the program and received certificates, which makes KPI the only university in Ukraine whose scientific and pedagogical staff have been trained according to the curriculum of one of the world leaders in the 5G industry. These teachers are already actively implementing the acquired knowledge into the educational process.
The program covered key areas of modern telecommunications:
• Mobile Networks
• Radio Access Networks (RAN)
• Network Core
• Cloud Technologies
Over 10 sessions, participants learned the practical tools and knowledge necessary to train the next generation of 5G professionals.

Students who successfully complete the online assessment within the program will receive an Ericsson digital badge – a recognized confirming the level of their knowledge in the field of 5G.
In the future, KPI and Ericsson plan to expand fruitful cooperation by implementing new educational intensives focused on 5G technologies.
