The department of information and telecommunication networks trains experts in telecommunications and radio engineering and the educational program the information and communication technologies (ITN).
Feature of training of students of department of information and telecommunication networks (ITN) is knowledge acquisition in the sphere of information technologies for development of modern infocommunication systems and further support of their functioning.
During training students study modern to language and technology of programming, a development environment of software products, process of creation of services, program Web of agents, the automated business of processes and also means of their modeling, the analysis, optimization and integration. Students get abilities to project, develop, introduce and carry out support of functioning of information systems of various type, in particular in the sphere of granting a telecom of services, Internet systems, cloudy data centers, the systems of support of decision-making which apply in global Internet to the based infrastructure.
At department considerable attention is paid to work in modern program environments with realization of remote access to really functioning data centers, databanks and the distributed information systems. Such work is carried out in real time, and as an entry point the equipment of laboratories of department is used. This process develops at students skills of remote work with big arrays geterogenno of the distributed information which are physically kept in the storages located worldwide.
The list educational disciplines which give all the best at department is modified according to current trends of development of infocommunication systems. With the advent of new supermodern technologies into the training program it is entered disciplines which provide basic knowledge on Data Science bases (Science about data), Business analytics (business of the analyst), Intellectual data processing (data mining), BigData (superbig data) and IoT (the Internet of things), M2M (communication between cars).
ITN department is one of the “youngest” departments of our university in terms of age classification of teachers. However, despite young age, 80% of teachers of department have academic degrees, scientific ranks and is highly qualified specialists in the field of infokommunikation. Teachers of department have extensive practical experience thanks to parallel operation over projects in the leading IT companies of Ukraine.
For many years the department cooperates with the known foreign universities, namely: Technical University Dresden (Germany), Anhalt University of Applied Science (Germany) and universities of France and Spain. Thanks to such cooperation students have an opportunity to participate in joint research projects, short-term scientific trips in these universities and also the program of a double magistracy, taking part in which the student gains two diplomas in two years in parallel undergoing studies in the Kiev Polytechnic Institute of Igor Sikorsky and Technical University of Dresden.
