Dear Colleagues,

It’s our pleasure to invite you and your organization to participate inonline training course on “The use of adaptive technologies to transmit video over radio channels” to be conducted on 10-13 November 2020. This training is organized jointly by the International Telecommunication Union and A.S. Popov Odessa National Academy of Telecommunications (ONAT) of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine as part of the Digital Broadcasting Programme under the auspices of the ITU Centres of Excellence for Europe Region. The training will be delivered in English through the ITU Academy Platform.

It would be the third updated version of this course (previous versions were implemented in 2018 and in 2019). In the end of training every participant will obtain the tutors’ monography (eBook) Trends in Telecommunications and Multimedia Systems.

This training course aims at giving participants an idea of the technology of creation, preparation, reception/transmission of video information for civil purposes; color constancy in multimedia systems: measurement, an algorithm of correction, perspectivity; algorithm for describing an area of reflective colors; applying a color appearance model (CAM) to a multimedia system: classification, the possibility of using traditional CAM model, perceptivity; application of the Magadan geodetic system for quantitative estimates of color parameters; image Coding with Compression and Sharpness; adaptive technologies for transmission of compressed video signals; the main existing models of propagation of millimeter-wave radio waves in 5G networks.
